Favorite Cinnamon Popcorn

This is an all-time favorite for my family and I hope yours enjoys it too!
Popcorn. It’s low-calorie, inexpensive, and simply fun. It’s great to serve at parties, it’s available all year long, and it’s loved by kids and adults the world over. It’s practically synonymous with movie watching, and who doesn’t enjoy snacking on popcorn at the ballpark or county fair?

Popcorn is also high in protein and fiber. Unfortunately, most of the popcorn available in the grocery store (even the type for microwaves) has fat added.

I’d like to share one of my favorite (and definitely kid-friendly) popcorn concoctions: Cinnamon Popcorn. The recipe is easy-to-follow and uses ingredients you probably have in your kitchen already. If you want to make it fun and healthier for the kids simply substitute the sugar for colored Splenda and everyone will enjoy this yummy treat.

Makes 4 servings (1 cup each serving)

2 teaspoons sugar
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 cups freshly popped popcorn (Use a hot air popper.)
Nonstick cooking spray

Gather Your Ingredients

Use an Air Popper to Make 4 Cups of Popcorn

Combine 2 tsp Sugar and ½ tsp Ground Cinnamon in a Small Bowl or Custard.

Mix Well

Spray the baking sheet lightly with cooking spray, then spread the popcorn on it. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.

Enjoy!

One last idea: Your leftover Cinnamon Popcorn makes a great on-the-go snack. Simply divide up any remaining popcorn into individual servings and store them in zip lock bags.

Whether you’re a snacker or a foodie—or a little of both—there’s no end to the fun you can have with popcorn. I’d love to hear your favorite popcorn recipes!
